While packing up from a week at a cabin with Hunter, the ghost of Max Wheeler, the construction owner who is building Noelle's pool, appears to them telling Hunter he needs to go to his office to find his, Max’s, body.
Noelle just wants to have her new swimming pool finished before Labor Day so she and her friends can enjoy a day of fun with each other. But now she doesn't know if that will be happening or not. Which is irritating as she has a big mud hole in the back of her yard and she has to help Hunter investigate Max’s murder because all the clues point to the wrong person as the murderer (in Noelle's mind anyway.)
That's not the only mystery she needs to solve. Things around her property appear to be fixing themselves, and chores are also being done on their own (which she is NOT complaining about) while at the same time, food seems to be disappearing (which she IS complaining about).
This is the second book in this series, and I will admit I'm enjoying the series a lot more than I thought I would when I started the first book.
The story has developed characters and plenty of twists to keep you guessing who may be the murderer.
There are witches, ghosts, and normal people who all somehow manage to get along without freaking each other out (much!) even though I think I would get jumpy if I was driving a car and a ghost popped in beside me for a chat without warning.
